To The Beach.. Swatches + Review

this has kinda been on the backburner for a while, but i DID purchase all of this, well *almost* all of this the day the collection came out ;)

ok, so obvss i got the very coveted marine highlighter! i had to run all the way across town for it! ;)

tadaaaa ... isn't it f*ing gorgeous...?

close up..
(notice how the head of the seahorse is missing some overspray?
that's my finger lool i couldnt help but touch it! ><)

anddd no more overspray! :( it was pretty while it lasted

(and sorry about the inconsistency of the colours. the top 2 were taken without flash. the bottom with flash + different times of day... :S )

SWATCHES!

light part, coral part, mixed up

aren't the colours.. to. DIE. FOR.??

Use: this is probably not the best idea to use as a highlighter since it's so pigmented, and just the tiniest dab is enough to give you a really healthy coral flush with a slight sheen that's absolutely perfect for the summer. i find it best applied with the S187 brush, as well as an extremely light hand. otherwise you could just look like a clown... - so MAC, you failed to deliver a highlighter. but made an absolutely stunning blush.

Texture: extremely finely milled powder. blends well. stays put.

Finish: kind of a satiny sheen. very "glowy" and healthy looking.

Lasts for... this lasts ALL day. im not kidding when i said it was pigmented. you can try to rub it off your face if you overdid it, but it will be hard to remove. which is GREAT for a long day at work or school...

Packaging: needless to say, this is one of the ugliest casings i have ever seen MAC release. who wants a weird khaki ish green with their blush!? it's bound to clash... + i would've preferred if it at least came with a mirror or something... ohhh wells, it can't have everything

Overall: love love love it! ppl compliment me on my "rosy glow" whenever i wear this. :) surprising what a simple blush can do...  :)

---

next up, the Weekend Creme Bronzer

i actually only ended up looking at this because i was just lounging around, wanting to try the highlighter out lol. and i believe that this may be one of the overlooked items due to the ridiculous (but worthy) hype over the hipness blush and the marine life highlighter, but turns out i fell in love with this and absolutely *had* to have it. it's creme in the pan, but as soon as it gets on your skin, turns to powder pretty much.

still brand new.. :)

rich chocolatey colour... mm. perfect for my skin!

SWATCH!

(layered on. you can make it more subtle for you face. but i wanted you to see the glitter in it)

Use: well.. bronzer, duh. but can also be used for contouring b/c it isn't overly shimmery

Texture: as i said above, creamy that blends into a nice, ultra smooth powder. i love the feeling of this. it is absolutely non-greasy if that's what you were thinking!

Finish: slightly glittery finish. definitely not discoball glittery, but there are a few little ones you can see. when the sun shines on your face.. the bronzer illuminates wherever the rays hit! liquid gold....

Lasts for.. unfortunately, i didn't find that this lasted long enough for my liking. because of the creme formula, it just tends to wear off faster/easier. perhaps if you layered a powder bronzer on top, this would make a great base!

Overall: loving this too. i haven't ever been this impressed with MAC products up to date. they've always been good, but not this fantastic.

I apply this with my S187 too, but the MUA suggested to use a foundation brush! the S187 is just more subtle and makes your shake-and-bake tan look fantastically realistic!

to the beach was a great collection and i hope you all went to check it out!! let me know if you got anything ;)

cheers!
